Dr. Lynn Bootes began studying Western astrology at age 18 in 1970. After a career as a Medical Doctor specializing in Family Medicine, she returned to astrology as a student at Kepler College from 2006-12, where she obtained an AA and an MA degree. Her thesis, The Underground River: A Cross-Cultural History of the Planetary Remedy, traced the persistence of planetary remedies of Jupiter and Saturn from ancient to early modern times in India, the Middle East and Europe.
Dennis Harness introduced her to Vedic astrology while at Kepler – Lynn signed up for ACVA and completed the Jyotish RatnaTM, Jyotish PrabhakaraTM and Vedic Astrology CoachingTM certificates between 2006-2013. She has continued her study of advanced techniques as well as Sanskrit, the Bhagavad Gita and the Vedas. She regularly writes an Astrobiography series in AstroLogic Magazine as well as in the ACVA Comet. In 2020 she joined the Faculty and Leadership Team of ACVA as an instructor and as Registrar.
Lynn lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma and maintains an astrology consulting practice.
